Support Chief Spence in her hunger strike, our way. The indigenous way.:

apihtawikosisan:

The jingle dress began in Whitefish Bay. It is a medicine dance, a healing dance. A campaign has been launched to bring the traditional sacred Jingle Dress dancers and song carriers from Whitefish Bay, ON, to get to Victoria Island to honour Chief Theresa Spence. If you can contribute anything to this, please do. Indigenous resurgence is also about respecting our traditions and beliefs, and living them.  More than anything else, these traditions and beliefs have sustained us through hundreds of years of cultural onslaught. We need to root ourselves even more firmly in them now.
